Ishara Art Foundation is pleased to announce the artist list for the Ishara House, an international project at Kashi Hallegua House, Kochi, Kerala. Designed by the artists and academics of the Aazhi Archives  the Ishara House will consist of an exhibition, public programmes and initiatives from 13 December 2025 – 31 March 2026, with Riyas Komu as Artistic Director.

The inaugural exhibition, entitled ‘Amphibian Aesthetics’, brings together artists and collectives from South Asia, the Middle East and Europe, who play with the emerging precarities of our planet, suggesting multiple modes of being. The exhibition explores the aspects of ‘amphibian’ as an artful way of mediating migrations and exile, memory and history, traditions and identities across time and space.

‘Amphibian Aesthetics’ offers an awareness of the world as an interconnected, ever-evolving entanglement of roots and branches, life forms and livelihoods. New artistic commissions spanning South Asia, the Gulf, Africa and beyond will examine how migration has historically facilitated complex confluences, underlining the role of maritime exchange in shaping society, power and resistance.
